Located on the Cape Fear River in downtown Wilmington, NC. The design extends Bijou Park through the project. The extension widens into a 3rd floor retail plaza overlooking the river. The pedestrian oriented project links the river walk with downtown. The design grows the magic of the downtown historic district.

" River Place is a public/private partnership between the City of Wilmington and our firm. DMA has been able to serve two masters on this exciting but very difficult constructive infill mixed use project. The site while exciting, as is the design, is one fraught with problems. Demolition of existing structure, environmental issues, very tight footprint constraints, height limitations and incredibly poor subsurface conditions is just a partial list. DMA has juggled all of these and delivered an architectural gem that is on budget and will be the eminent project yet done in Wilmington. "
